Information collection
Quest does not collect or transmit personal data to the developer or to third-party services. The app does not use advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, or a developer-operated server.
Information stored on the device
Quest stores the information needed to provide its features locally on the device. This can include quest titles, categories, completion status, optional reminder schedules, gameplay progress, equipped items, and app settings. The main app and bundled widget share only the limited task and progress state needed for widget display and actions through Apple's App Group storage.
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud Sync, supported Quest data is synchronized between your Apple devices through your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit service. Quest does not receive your iCloud account identifier or operate a server that receives this data. The setting is controlled separately on each device. Turning sync off pauses synchronization on that device and does not delete local or existing iCloud data.
Backup and restore
You can export a Quest backup to a location you choose through Apple's system file interface. Before restoring, Quest validates the file and shows a preview of the changes. Backup contents are not sent to the developer. Files you export are retained and deleted according to the storage location and service you choose.
Notifications and Live Activities
If you add a reminder, Quest may request notification permission and schedule a local notification on the device. Quest may also display a Live Activity for an upcoming reminder on supported devices. This information is handled through Apple system services and is not transmitted to a developer-operated server.
Diagnostics
Quest stores privacy-safe diagnostic counters locally, including aggregate MetricKit issue counts and backup or iCloud operation failures. Quest does not store quest titles, backup contents, account or device identifiers, raw MetricKit reports, or stack traces in its support report. A diagnostic report is copied only when you explicitly choose Copy Diagnostics. Quest does not operate a server that automatically receives these diagnostics.
Third-party services
Quest does not include third-party advertising, analytics, authentication, or cloud-storage SDKs. Notifications, Live Activities, App Groups, MetricKit, file selection, and optional iCloud synchronization are provided by Apple system frameworks and services.
Data retention and deletion
Local Quest data remains on a device until you delete it in Quest or remove the app. Data previously synchronized through iCloud can remain in your private iCloud database so another connected device can continue to use it. Exported backups, device backups, iCloud data, and system diagnostic data are managed through the storage location, Apple account, and device settings you choose.
Children's privacy
Quest is a general-audience productivity app. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.
